About FillerLists

We got tired of opening three tabs to find out whether an episode was worth our evening. So we made one sheet per show: every episode, a label, and a plain opinion on each arc.

A hand holds a magnifying glass between two open reference books, next to a red rubber stamp and a stamped index card.
Two sources for every label. When they disagree, we check the episode by hand before we stamp it.

We started with the six long shows people search for most: One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Black Clover and Boruto. My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball Z and Fairy Tail came next, then Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter and Jujutsu Kaisen. More will follow.

Who runs FillerLists

FillerLists is edited by Ren Calder, who builds every list from the sources named on its show page, makes each hand-checked call, and writes the arc verdicts and notes.

The verdicts ("watch", "optional", "skip") are opinions, and we say so. The labels are not: each one comes from two independent sources or from a written review with links. When you report a mistake, Ren Calder checks it against those sources and updates the page.

How an episode gets its label

We use two source checks where available, plus cited manual reviews. The first checks the show's fan wiki, which lists the manga chapters each episode adapts. The second checks Wikipedia, mostly the Japanese episode lists, which mark episodes written for the anime. Matching anime-original signals give a provisional label of filler. If an episode has real manga scenes as well as invented ones, it's mixed. Episodes taken from official novels or one-shots are anime canon. When a check is missing or the sources disagree and a cited review does not settle it, we mark it needs review and leave it in your watch order. The verdicts on each arc (watch, optional, skip) are just our opinion.

A blank field on a wiki isn't proof on its own, so where the sources clash we go back to the episode and the chapters it claims to adapt. Each of those calls is written down on the show page with links, under "Episodes we checked by hand".

Titles and Japanese air dates come from TVmaze. We pin each TVmaze episode to a fixed number, so a missing or duplicated record can't quietly shift the whole list by one.

What we won't do

We don't copy other filler sites, and we don't use their lists to check ours. We don't host or link to unofficial streams. And we have no deal with any studio, publisher or streaming service; we only use the show names so you know which page you're on.
